Piglins

You’ve probably heard of trading with overworld mobs, like villagers and wandering traders. But what about trading with nether mobs? The piglin can do just that!

Piglin variants:

Piglins are hostile mobs that spawn in the nether and have the ability to barter, or trade with the player. There are 3 variants of the piglin: The default, or normal piglin, the piglin brute, a stronger, tougher variant, and the zombified piglin, which is neutral unless attacked. If you don’t want piglins to attack you, wear at least one piece of gold armor. Unlike normal piglins, piglin brutes can only spawn in bastion remnants and  will attack you whether you have gold armor or not.

How to barter with piglins:

Unlike villagers or wanering traders, you cannot choose what piglins give you. They give you a variety of items, including:

  • gravel
  • 9-36 iron nuggets
  • ender pearls
  • a netherite hoe
  • obsidian
  • crying obsidian
  • string
  • a water bottle
  • iron boots with the soul speed enchantment

To trade with a piglin, drop a gold ingot near its feet. The piglin should then run to the ingot and pick it up. After considering the gold for a few seconds, it should give you something in return.
