Pillager outposts are special buildings, simmilar to the woodland mansion. They are usually made of dark oak wood, coobblestone, and have lots of vines growing on them. They are easier to find than woodland mansions and can be found in the dark oak fosrest biome. Illagers spawn in these buildings, however, not all illager types spawn. For example, evokers, vindicators, and ravagers do not spawn there. The only illager type found there are
pillagers. Pillagers are hostile mobs with crossbows. They may sometimes have enchanted crossbows. All illager types can sometimes spawn with an illager banner. The illager banner is a special banner with the illager head printed on it. When killed, illagers holding illager banners will drop the banner they are holding and give you the bad omen effect. This effect makes it so that the next time you enter a village with the effect on you, you will start a raid. If you don’t want the effect, you can drink milk buckets to get rid of it. This works with any other potion effect in the game. Illagers sometimes drop used crossbows, arrows, or enchanted crossbows. On the top floor of the outpost, you will find a chest with loot. There are also sometimes fenced cages near the outpost that can sometimes have iron golems or allays.
