This post is all about wolves!
Wolves, also known as dogs, can be tamed as pets.
Where to find:
Wolves can be found in the all versions of the taiga biome, along with all versions of the forest biome (not including the flower forest biome). They usually spawn in groups of 4, with 10% of them spawning as pups.
How to tame:
Wolves can be tamed by feeding them bones. Bones can be obtained by fishing, killing a skeleton or a skeleton
horse, or can be found in some loot chests. To feed the bones to the wolf, interact with it while holding the bone. You will know when your dog is tame when it sits down with a red collar and gives you the heart particle effect You may need to feed the wolf a few times before it is tame, so bring at least 3 bones so you don’t run out. When the dog is sitting, it will not follow you around. If your dog is standing, it will follow you wherever you go.
Additional facts:
You can breed 2 tamed dogs with any type of meat, cooked or raw (not including fish) to get a baby wolf. If you breed them, the baby will be born tame. You can also dye the color of the wolf’s collar. Just interact with the wolf while holding the dye of the color you want it to be. Wild wolves will kill skeletons & sheep. If you hit any mob including a player while your dog is standing, it will attack them. If a player hits you, your wolf will attack it.
